Ph.D., Yuxiu Young Scholars Program, Assistant Researcher

Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in June 2024, and his M.S. degree from China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) in 2020. Upon graduation, he joined the School of Intelligent Software and Engineering at Nanjing University (NJU), where he was selected for the “Yuxiu Young Scholars Program”.
His research interests include AI-empowered networks and communications, integrated data and energy networks, joint communication and sensing systems, and intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS). He has led or participated in several major research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including key and general programs, as well as key basic research projects of Jiangsu Province.
He has authored multiple papers in top-tier journals and conferences in the field of communications, including IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC) and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT). He holds (or has applied for) five Chinese invention patents. He received the Best Paper Award at the 12th IEEE International Conference on Smart City and Informatization (iSCI-2024), and contributed to the project “IntelliSense IoT: A Multimodal Passive Data-and-Energy Integrated System”, which won the Gold Medal at the Macao International Innovation and Invention Expo. He also serves as a reviewer for several academic journals and as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for flagship conferences in the communications field, including IEEE ICC 2025.
